how can I create DVD?

I would like to put some .avi files on DVD+R. But my
Windows XP Pro only wants me to create CDs. One guy told
me he is able to put files on DVD using his XP software.
Can anyone clue me in? I have both a DVD ROM and a BenQ
DVD+RW burner. Thanks so much in advance!

XP does not support burning DVD's 3rd party software is
required for this. IE: Roxio, Burn-it, etc

The inbuilt burning is limited and only deals in CDs. You need one of
the third party programs to use DVD
