How can I create a "While You Were Out" macro/message?

I have searched the world over and I not having much success in finding out
how to do this. I want to use Outlook as a "message center" and create
simple templates for phone messages and the like. It doesn't have to be
anything fancy -- and we're a very small office so it need not be a
cumbersome program. Any assistance at all would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently, I hadn't searched the *entire* world over. Thank you very much,
Milly!
