How can I convert an Access database file into a Word Document?

I am compiling a large journal index in Access 2003. On completion I wish to
convert it to a Word document so that it can be edited to look like a
conventional book index. Export/Import simply copies the whole thing with all
the lines. Is there a way of moving the text only?

You can build an Access columnar report which will look like an index. You
can ouput Access data to a Word document using automation, or even the menu
option: Tools ... Office Links ... Publish it with Word.

Do not, under any condition ever open an Access database in Word (or
anything else which might autosave) if Word saves it, it will be corrupted
beyond repair.

Thanks for the suggestion but the result is still like a database table and
does not allow me to edit the text so that it resembles a conventional book
index with duplications of phrases removed.
