doesn't mention the post that you are responding to ... it might have been
mine but it's hard when you don't include the original post or even mention
the responder's name.
my method will match up the contents on a cell by cell basis - which is what
Word's compare documents feature does (well, it does it word for word), but
like Word, if you move a paragraph from page 1 to page 53, word will show
you that it's gone but you can't compare page 1 of the old document with
page 53 of the new.
apart from the method mentioned in my last post i don't know of anyway of
comparing two excel worksheets. If you would like to tell us why you are
trying to achieve this, we might be able to come up with an alternative.
Myrna Larson and Bill Manville have written an add-in named Compare.xla that
is very hady for this type of problem. Can be downloaded in *.ZIP form from
Chip Pearson's site.
