I am starting a new organization system usinf "Getting Things Done". I want
to color code tasks to match my catargories.

View | Current View | Customize Current View | Automatic Formatting

I created my own catagories and they do not show up where you sent me. When
I click on catagories on the bottom of thw task, there is a list I created
and those are the ones I want to color code. Thanks for trying.

So, did you try setting up a category-based automatic formatting rule in
your view? If so, what happened?

I do not know how to do/make rules. Is there a simple way to explain to me
how to do it?

Go to View | Current View | Customize Current View | Automatic Formatting.
Click Add to create a new formatting rule. Give it a name. Click Font to set
the font. Click Condition to set your criteria.
