How can I change user acct permissions for a DB I can't open?

In one of our frontends, when I try to open I get the following:

The current user account doesn't have permission to convert or endable this
database.
To convert or enable a db, unsure the following:
*You must join the workgroup that defines the user accounts used to access
the db
*Your user account must have Open/Run and Open Exclusive permissions for the
db object
*Your user account must have Modify Desgn or Administer permissions for all
tables in the db, or it must be the owner of all tables in the databse.
*Your user account must have Read Design permission for all objects in the db
*Request that other users close the db.

This front end was built by employee's that no longer work here. I am set by
MIS as the owner for the file, but is there something we can't get to w/o
actually opening the file? I have tried to import all the info into a new db
w no luck.

try the access program at www.officerecovery.com
I have used it to recover all sorts of things and permission form DB's left
by others

Thanks Chris. That is probably more than I want to spend to recreate some
querys, but at least the demo gives me an idea of what was in there.
