How can I change the default folder window shape?

I have to work with many files from different folders open, and need to
shape them to fit better on the screen. I already get the C:\ folders to
open properly (2.4"x8"), but not those of removable storage.
There must be somewhere in the registry where I can set the default folder
window size & shape. Does anyone know where, or how to find it?
It would be much better if they would cascade down to the left, but that
might be too much to ask of a 20 yr old GUI.

I'm using wXPhe-SP3 with Media Edition.

That did not help.
The Control Panel > Tools > folder options > File types panel is the same as
that on any folder, and has no 'edit properties'. The list shows 'file
folder' and 'folder'. Still no 'Edit Properties' on either. Advanced on
both opens 'Edit File Type'. Still no 'Edit Properties'. Still no dimension
control. I've never seen window dimensions on any XP properties panel.
In ... Tools > folder options > View, I always have "Remember" set, so
windows tend to keep the shape I gave them at last open. But that does not
work for most folder windows, and neither that nor 'Apply to all Folders' set
the default size.
Could you be a more specific?

On this discussion page (if you are logged in), in the UR corner, next to
"Help", is an innocuous icon: mouse-over="Edit my Profile' > at the bottom of
that page, Notifications: insert a good email > Save > insert a good email
again, turn off the checkmarks > Continue > Sign-out > Sign-in to check your
profile.
