Testing testing one two

Hi
I would like a link on a page (Page A) to open another page (Page B) which
automatically opens another page (Page C).
What I'm trying to do is hide the target address of page C from people who
visit page A.

i.e Page A - www.mysite.com
Page B - www.mysite.com/tos.html
Page C - www.the-other-site.com

This all might seem like a waste of time but there is a reason.
Cheers for any help.

John

Use a meta refresh tag in the head section of tos.html that automatically opens
www.the-other-site.com

Place this between the head tags.

<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0; URL=http://www.the-other-site.com/">

Content ="0 is the number of seconds delay before www.the-other-site.com opens.

In this case it is zero seconds.

I'd recommend against meta refresh.
1/ search engines dont like them - if the page in question has moved for
good a server redirect would be a better idea
2/ they don't work for users - user hits back he ends up on the meta page
and is redirected again and is stuck in an endless loop. A better answer
would be
<script type="text/javascript">
location.replace('http://www.page.com.page.htm');
</script>
<noscript>
<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0; URL=http://www.the-other-site.com/">
</noscript>

Bottom line - any redirect should ideally come from the server. If it can't
for any reason at least don't mess with the users back button.

Howdy.

Any such scheme is futile. Once Page C is on display, the
visitor can simply right-click it, choose properties, and
read off the address. They can also right-click the page
and add into Favorites.

OK, you can trap right-clicks, but there are ways of
beating that as well.

I assume your reason for asking this question relates to
security. If so, please describe your objective.
