How can I adjust column width of a single cell within Excel 2003?

I would like to be able to adjust column width of one cell only without
affecting width of remaining cells within the same column. This is for
Excel 2003. Please advise.

Sorry, cannot do that the way you've requested.
Some Options are

1) to leave cells to the right empty and turn off word-wrap in that cell,
any text will extend out over adjacent colums in that row.
2) select several cells along with that one in the same row and use
Format | Cells | [Alignment] and in the Horizontal, choose "Center Across
Selection"
3) select that cell and more on the same row and MERGE them into one cell.
Initially the entry in that will be centered, but you can then align it to
the left or right using standard format options.

Hope this helps some with the problem.

Hi,
you can not adjust the width of a single cell, but you can overcome this
problem by merging the adjacent cells, which needs more space. the same
thing you can find in XL templates.
