can anyone help?

i've got a front-end/back-end database application.
i have to update the data in the back-end on a daily basis.
however, in order to prevent users from using any reports/forms i'd like to
block users from accessing it while i update the data.

any help would be useful.
i'm going round in circles trying to find a solution which works.

If you open the back end exclusively then Access will automatically keep
people out while you're in there.
