HovText is a small freeware and open source Windows application that removes
any formatting from a clipboard copied text - it means the text will be
pasted as raw text without any HTML codes or fontsizes/colors/layout etc. A
typical scenario is to copy a qoute from Internet Explorer and paste it into
Outlook or Word. In the most cases it will paste the formatting along also.
In some rare cases that is convenient but in most cases it is very
inappropriate as you may want to keep the current formatting from within
Outlook or Word!
Of course there are alternative methodes to do this but in most cases they
involve copy/paste into eg. Notepad. That is of course also a possibility
but we think this solution is much easier
* Removes all formatting from a clipboard copied text (removes
HTML/color/layout etc.)
* No installation required - just "run and use"
* Should be able to run in any Windows enviroment (tested in Windows 2000
and Windows XP - more to follow)
* Copies text only and not formels from eg. Microsoft Excel (see
documentation)
* Can be activated or deactived via a hotkey
* Multiple modes of operations (see documentation)
* Multiple users with independent settings on the same computer
* Possibility to remove leading/trailing whitespaces or linebreaks
* Possibility to copy links only
* Possibility to specify what linktypes you wish to copy (movies, pictures,
emails etc.)
* Multiple languages - danish, english, german, french and dutch (hopefully
more to come)
* Possibility to clean up application entries in the registry (no
unnecessary mess)
* All freeware and open source
* No registration or advertising (no nags)
