Hover buttons won't display

I have a set of (It think they are cleed java applet hover buttons) on my
site. Since my PC was all just re-installed I get a little red cross in each
box and I can't reach the pagrs I want to.

Normally I'd link this to an old version of IE, however I have v6.02 etc ..
wth service pack 2 so I'm baffled as to why I can't see these.

Over the years I've formatted PC and re installed everything, but never lost
display of these buttons before.

Any ideas anyone?

Have you actually installed a java VM ? Windows no longer comes with MSVM
installed...

Java VM = Java Virtual Machine, aka the software you need to run Java
applets. You can get Sun's version here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp

If you run into a Java site that doesn't work well, you can also install
Microsoft's Java VM - instructions and download links here:
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/14.html

You'll need to have Java enabled in IE's Security settings as well -
Tools...Internet Options...Security tab, Custom button.
