Hover Bother

I use hover buttons as navigation buttons and they look ok on the FP page
but when I go to preview they only show up as an empty box with the red x in
the top left hand corner. My ISP say's that they do publish but if I check
them from my computer they simply don't publish even after pressing the
refresh button. I've just moved over to XP and I'm not sure if this is the
problem. Could someone please check for me at www.book-holidays-direct.com

If you check many previous posts you'll find that it is not good to use
hover buttons as they are java applets that don't work any more with IE.
Many have already found other ways to make their links.

Hi Fred You may need to install the latest version of java on your machine if you arte seeing the red x's or enable java in the internet explorer advanced properties.

But what about all the others who won't be able to see them. He needs to
replace all the hover buttons ... any java applet etc.

I do not recommend hover buttons (which use Java) as they have a
longer loading time and as stated, viewers with latest versions of
Internet Explorer, who have chosen not to download the Java Virtual
Machine, will not be able to view any part of a website coded with
Java. Microsoft did not include Java with Internet Explorer Version 6
because of disagreements with Sun Microsystems, the creators of the
Java programming language. Netscape and Opera browsers are, however,
fully Java compatible “out of the box”.

NS 6+ Browsers require you to download Sun JVM, at least at the time I
downloaded, it was optional.
