Hotmail versus Windows Live mail.

Is it true that switching from Hotmail to Windows Live - you can't go back to
hotmail?
What are the advantages using Windows Live Mail?
I have looked into changing but couldn't understand how to do it.
Please help explaining how to change.

Not true. You can go back to Hotmail anytime you want.
Windows Live Mail is a desktop email program that will handle
POP and IMAP accounts as well as Hotmail accounts.
It also includes a newsgroup reader.

Question: Can you keep both and switch back and forth?
FYI - calling Verizon they told me one could not and that many people
regreted having changed not being able to go back to Hotmail. I AM sure you
are correct!!
Please also tell me how to change!

You can switch back and forth, and even run them simultaneously.
The only caveat is that only one email service can be the 'default'.
The only time that matters is when you click on an email link on a
web page.
