Hotmail to windows mail

Trying to go from hotmail to windows mail. Can I not use my old
(e-mail address removed) moniker or do I have to use the new microsoft.com. All my
sht is hotmail.com. If I can't use that why change.

Hotmail is an email service.
Windows Mail is an email program.

You can still access your Hotmail account like you did with Outlook Express
if you use the newer Windows Live Mail.

Also, you can now access your Hotmail account using POP3 in Windows Mail
(from most countries).

However, Windows Mail is hard-coded to reject Hotmail/Live/MSN accounts.
But you can fool it by entering a fake email address ([email protected]), and
then
changing it to your real address ([email protected]).
