When I try to attach a file, the "Please wait while we upload your file"
screen comes up for a fairly long time, then the special MICROSOFT "page not
found" screen. Why is this happening, and is my e-mail going through?

I'd look at the MTU setting first.

Sometimes Hotmail won't let a file go through with an .exe extension.
Try changing the extension with something like .txt or something like
that...when the files finally goes through, change the extension back to
.exe. B.M.
