hotmail and yahoo using windows live mail

Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail? Windows Mail does not
handle webmail.

Hotmail is almost always webmail, while US-based free Yahoo
accounts are also webmail.

If you upgrade to Windows Live Mail, or have already done so,
it will handle Hotmail accounts. To download Windows Live Mail:

Yes you can use yahoo through windows mail.
the instructions for the pop server addresses are in your yahoo email options.

Its a little bit tricky to download your customised email folders but it
can be done. Use the archive message function in yahoo and then unzip folders
and drag and drop the messages into your new folders you have named in
windows mail.

Live mail desktop stopped working with hotmail accounts months ago.
Microsoft has litterally if not with great audacity told us as customers we
are not worth their time through obfuscation and continual referrals to pay
them for support of a product they still haven't delivered service with to
begin with.
I want my money back period.
Vista is as usable as a defective lava lamp for home users and any sense of
productivity based upon their own products.

Most users have no problems with what you call "Live mail desktop."
Incidentally, it hasn't been called that since new versions were released
on May 30th.
If you need help, post the error message.

I beg to differ, Live/hotmails competitors have not had any problem requiring
additional software to nor any convoluted help files in doing exactly what I
asked for.
How can microsoft in their right mind, living on their market share, be so
ignorant with a deployment like this? Demanding too much with the links to
pay more here for items they already had, except, now they had to pay more
for the OS as well as be confused and bewildered by the fact that none of the
software shipping with the OS supports its own services anymore?

Yahoo, for example, doesn't offer free POP mail to US residents,
so you have to use webmail. Some people like webmail, others
don't. Gmail (Google Mail) is a strong competitor, but it has
some quirks.
Windows Live Mail is a significant player because not only
does it do POP and IMAP but also Hotmail, plus newsgroups.
Its spell checker is awesome in that it does auto-correct as well
as real time error flagging, previously only available in Outlook.

Then why is it Yahoo works with Vista Windows Mail and hotmail plus doesn't?
That just doesn't say "great" in any form or fashion. A Microsoft Product
won't support a Microsoft product unless we use a Beta platform that won't
work with other products and I don't like?
You used to have a very hassle free product with Outlook Express & Hotmail.
This is a mess now. I wouldn't be so irate if I had not come to depend on
the accounts being easy. I setup friends and family that are not very PC
literate and now they hardly use it or can't because it got so complicated
they couldn't set it up anymore and they hated the web interface.
I'm sorry but I'm really dissappointed for the amount of hoops I have to go
through just trying to get what worked before without any complaint to
actually function again.

Oh, and one more thing, why did Windows Mail work with the account last week
when I bought it and quit working this week?

You're mixing apples and oranges.
Just saying "Yahoo" doesn't quite define what kind of mail you are
talking about. Depending on one's country of residence, there is
a) free Yahoo webmail
b) free Yahoo POP/SMTP mail (not in the USA)
c) paid (premium) POP/SMTP mail.
So, one needs to be specific about particulars.

Obviously, Yahoo webmail does not work with Vista's Windows Mail,
nor does it work with Windows Live Mail.

It is not at all clear which Microsoft product you say is not supporting
another Microsoft product. Please talk specifics instead of generalities.

I handle almost a hundred trouble reports per day, so I don't remember your
particular issue. If you want specific answers, lay out all the details.
