Hi - there are several WINDOWS XP HOTFIX (with #'s) when
I open the Add/Remove Programs. Can I remove them?

Hi

They are the Windows Updates and will include the Security/Critical Updates.
May I suggest that you leave them where they are, otherwise your PC could be
open to intrusions.

Hi, Diane,
Will Denny's advice is valid, don't attempt to remove them yourself.

However, DougKnox has a removal program, that will remove all the backups to
those Hotfixes, saving a lot of space.

Click the following address:
http://www.dougknox.com

Click XP Utilities on the left menu,
Scroll down and click - Remove Hotfix Backup Files.
This will download a Zip file to your hard drive, in a directory of your
choice.

Then on the Start, Run line, type in the path and the zip file and Windows
will install it for you.
Create a shortcut to your desktop and you will be all set.

Good Luck,
Jerry

The space saved is really very insignificant.

If a backup is created so the program can return to its original condition,
in case of problems, there is usually a substantial bit of space used for
that, unless I am wrong in my way of thinking.

Enlighten me,
Jerry
