Hosts file in Vista

SK

Hello, Please can you tell me how I can add entries into the hosts file.
Every time I try and save the modified file I a message saying that I don't
have permission. I have also tried making sure the folder "etc" is not set
to read only but I still get access denied.

Thanks

SK

Right click on it and "Run as elevated/administrator" if the option is
there - or reboot in safe mode and login as the Administrator (by default,
the password is blank) and edit it there )

Make sure you start Notepad/Wordpad/whatever using "Run as Administrator"
or launch it from a CMD prompt that was started using "Run as
Administrator".
