Hosts file doesn't work anymore, can't flush DNS cache

I'm having the same trouble on an XP client. What's
wierd is I can ping all the pcs in the network
neighborhood, except for a SCO Unix server, that doesn't
appear in the neighborhood. It appears on the other
clients and there is a host file on the XP client that
references that Unix server. Any ideas?
