Host records and port numbers

Brian

Is there any way to include a port number with an IP
address mapping in a host record in Win2K DNS? I have
several different web servers that use the same external
IP address but use different port numbers to get access
to. I would like to be able to setup a way for people to
enter the name of the server (test.domain.com,
test2.domain.com) without having to remember different
port numbers at the end. That way test would resove as
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2000 and xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2001 would
resolve as test2 and so forth. Is it possible?

Thanks.

That's done with the SRV records. The app must be able to recognize or
written to query for the SRV, which then offers the service and port, then
that's resolved to an IP.
