Host POP3 could not be found

That's not the complete error message. Right-click on your error message,
copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
Who is your mail service provider?

I have the same kind of problem. My error message is this:

Der Host "POP3.email.t-online.de" wurde nicht gefunden. überprüfen Sie die
Angabe des Servernamens.
Konto: "POP3.email.t-online.de", Protokoll: POP3, Port: 110, Secure (SSL):
Nein, Socketfehler: 11001, Fehlernummer: 0x800CCC0D.

thanks, tried that. The error message now reads:

Konto: "pop.t-online.de", Server: "pop.t-online.de", Protokoll: POP3,
Serverantwort: "ERR Toid authentication disabled", Port: 110, Secure (SSL):
Nein, Serverfehler: 0x800CCC90, Fehlernummer: 0x800CCC90.

???
