Horizontal scroll bar for folders in Outlook 2003

Just switched from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003. My messages folders are
nested with pertinent subfolders. In Outlook 2000, there was a horizontal
scroll bar allowing L-R movement to view the subfolders without expanding the
size of the pane. Outlook 2003 appears to have only a vertical scroll bar.
Nothing that allows lateral movement. Are my only options to either increase
the size of the pane or to reduce the nesting?

Have you expanded the top level folders to expose the nested ones? When I
do this, I get the scroll bar.

if you hover the mouse over it, the full name displays in a tooltip. or you
can switch to the folder list (ctrl+6).

Yes. That's how 2K worked and what I expected from 2K3. But no go. As the
other reply states, I can hover the mouse over a portion of the folder and
get the full name, but this only works if a portion is exposed. In some
cases, the "+" is at the edge of the pane where opening the tree exposes no
portion of the folder name.

And this is a clean install on a new system with all XPP and MS Office
patches. The messages folders were imported from the 2K pst on system being
replaced.

The full name display I knew about, but only works when there is a piece of
the folder exposed.

The swap to the Folder List does the trick and is what I had not figured
out. I was being dense. Now that you've pointed it out to me, the lightbulb
has turned on.

Thanks,

Jay
