Hook Up to Stereo

I bought a 3 way splitter cable from the Shack.
That allows hooking up computer speakers, headset with mic, and a
connection to my home theater system in the other room. To accomplish
that I got an adaptor from the shack to take 1 of the mini stereo to
rca sockets,.
Then from home depot becuz it was cheaper, (2) 15 foot, mini stereo to
rca cable, 3 barrel rca plugs 2 for the audio and 1 to use for the
composite video out, from my ATI All-in-Wonder.
I have the computer in 1 room, patched into my A/V surround sound
stereo in another room, and to tv/monitor. With the All-In-Wonder I
can then watch movies played on the computer. With the RF remote of
the All-In-Wonder, can also run the movie from the other room too.
I was told this setup, would introduce noise, and hum in the video and
audio, but I cannot see any problems. I split the 3rd 15 foot patch
cord into 2 parts, along with the 3rd barrel connector, to make
basically 3 30 foot long patch cords, 2 for audio 1 for video.

I am hoping soon to scrape enough extra cash, that I may order the
9600 All-In-Wonder card. The only real advantages to that over my old
7500 are speed, but mostly that the older 7500 you have to run at
800x600 when watching movies, and then have to switch back (as I use
it normally at 1024x768) when not needing the video out function. With
the 9600 you supposedly can use both at the same time, in different
resolutions, without seeing any effects on the computer monitor. In
other words able to truly have dual display, ability, to have my main
screen left at 1024x768 and run the video output at it's 640x480 or
800x600 mode. When using the older AIW cards in tv mode, it also makes
the display appear darker, and with more flicker.

I noticed you reported no problems, good. No boosting of signal or such
problems.
I also have a All-In-Wonder card,, but a much earlier version (the numbers
are in Roman numerals and predate Chistianity). On this card, to avoid
making my own cables, one must order the s-signal adaptors (which cost
slightly more than the card {$10}).
As you probably know, you have a hard drive recorder (that's what I use on
occassion), but I have the lousy mini video with my ancient card. Good to
read that signal boost was not a problem for distance of cables.
