homepage hijacked to "About blank" and search x

Cannot erase this. Tried every spyware . So whenever I
click on it appears first advertising ironically a spyware
program then a search engine which keeps changing its
info.Any ideas????

Try SpyBot --> http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10194058.html?tag=lst-0-1
If this does not help, then try to look for the following reg key-->
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunService
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Check if there are some programs, that you do not recognize. If so, remove
them (make backup for just in case ).

The excellent utility for removing CoolWebSearch will fix this, AFAIR.
Search Google for CWShredder (or was is CWSshredder?, I don't remember).

Check out www.spywareinfo.com for info on this spyware. Depending on which
version you have, it can be very difficult to remove. Check out the forums
section for removal information. CWShredder.exe can remove older versions,
but newer versions are much harder to remove.
