homebuilt notebooks

Tom's Hardware Guide put out an article, "Building Your Dream Notebook"
(http://www7.tomshardware.com/howto/20050504/index.html). The article lists
coboc.com as a supplier. Small shops putting together computers may have
been doing this for a while, but this seems to be new for the consumer. I've
only had experience with a Desknote (not one I want to repeat). Now there's
many brands to choose between. Anyone have any experiences to share?

I work at www.mpcparts.com
we sell custom built pc's also we are selling parts for custome
builders.

few months ago, I built my own. biggiest problem is I bought the
components that I never wanted. So, if you are not sure what you want,
answer the following questions.

1- is noise important for you?
2- weight
3- battery life.
4- speed mhz.

I hope this questions will help .
thanks

Which brand notebook did you build? Some of the reviews mention that not
all parts on the DIY notebooks are interchangeable. For example, ASUS
notebooks can only take an ASUS specific optical drive. Have you noticed
this with the notebook you built?
