No matter what I change my home page to, it always
returns to a page titled, about:blank

I can change the home page and click on the home page
icon and it returns to the correct home page. But, if i
close the internet explorere and open it, it returns to
this page, about:blank

The page is a listing of subjects that can be searched
but obviously is a professional page.

Can anyone help

Check the properties of the IE shortcut, it might read something like this

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohom

If so, get rid of the -nohome at the end

That is the default setting for IE and should NOT be removed!
