When I set my home page in internet options and close out my explorer then
when I start the internet again it go's to a microsoft home page even though
my.yahoo is in the place for home page it happens everytime I switch maybe I
checked a box someplace it really has me stumped Thanks

The Microsoft home page or a Microsoft page? In Internet Explorer 7, the
first time you use it it asks you a few questions like if you want to use the
phishing filter, and a couple more questions I can't remember. I think it
might keep asking you until you answer those questions.

If it is the actual Microsoft home page and not this other Microssoft page,
then something else must be doing it.

Try this:

1. Navigate to the page that you want to make your default home page.
2. Click the arrow on the Home toolbar button and choose Add or Change Home
Page.
3. Choose “Use this webpage as your only home page†and click Yes.

That should be the one-and-only page that opens each time you open IE. You
can add others if you want. Click the empty tab, navigate to a second home
page. Do steps 1 and 2 but choose “Add this webpage to your home page tabsâ€
in step 3.
