Some sort of spyware has taken over my home page. Any
time I change the home page it switches back to the page
it just was. I've run Ad-aware to delete any spyware on
my computer, but I can't seem to get whatever is
controlling my home page.

Go to
Start / Run / type in msconfig and click ok

startup tab and then uncheck anything in there that doesn't look like a real
program (you can tell by the path it shows). You can uncheck everything and
then reboot and see if it works and then check back a few at a time and do
it again.

good luck

In my (depressingly time-consuming and recent) experience, Ad-Aware and
Spybot are both very helpful, especially if kept properly updated (they hunt
for and fix all infestations that they know about) but the best tool of all
is HijackThis, which lists everything that your browser is loading and lets
you get rid of what you don't want. I found a really horrible one through
HijackThis which appeared to be quite unknown to either Ad-Aware or Spybot.
The downside is, of course, that you need to know what you are doing when
using HijackThis, so that you don't remove stuff that is essential to the
healthy running of your browser.
