I am setting up a home network; have the network in the
same workgroup; but the computers are able to access the
web but I cannot share resources. what am I doing wrong.

Run the Network Setup Wizard again - on all networked computers - being VERY
careful to read, and understand, the configuration options offered.

Same problem here.

ICS works fine, can ping from the WinME computer to the Win XP one. And the
XP one can see the shares on the ME one. But can I make the ME computer
connect to the shares on the XP SP2 computer. No. Get prompted for
password all the time, and even though I am logged on to Windows on the ME
machine with the same username as password as the XP machine on which the
shares are located, I can not connect.

It's as if the authentication is not being passed from ME machine to XP one.

Firewall is on, but not on the LAN, only on external connections.

Anyhelp much appreciated.

Thanks

Adrian

Adrian,

You wouldn't go to the doctor and insist upon the same medicine as your
neighbor, based upon having the same symptoms. Don't assume your computer
problems are the same, based upon two brief problem reports.

Please start a new topic (with a different, and descriptive title) for help.
This will benefit both you, and the OP. And, it will help the helpers here find
your posts easier.
