I have a desktop and two laptops all running XP and
networked together. I can share files and the broadband
and printer attached to the desktop. I also have a laptop
running 98, also networked and able to share files and
the broadband but not the printer. Is there something I
have to do to allow the printer attached to the XP
desktop to be visible to the laptop running 98?

If the shared name of the printer is too long (more than eleven characters)
or contains unusual characters like spaces or punctuation marks, Windows 98
won't see it. Use a short, simple share name.
