Home Networking

Hi there,

Well, here I go. I am trying to set up a home network
using a netgear router. Both my computers run on windows
XP home edition. My internet access is Cable. I set up
the connections using the Wizards.

So far both my computers have no problem accessing the
internet. However, only my newer Guest computer is able
to see into the workgroup. I can't gain access into the
Host computer, only see that it is there. Well, darn, now
I can't even access the workgroup. The message
says: "Home is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions.
The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently
available."

It has been sort of irratic like this. Sometimes I can
see into the workgroup and sometimes I can actually see
the workgroup on the Host computer, but I have never been
able to see the Guest computer in the workgroup on the
host computer.

Please help me.

Kind regards.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Shannon Fritz

I am about to start a new Post. I notice some
interesting messages in my event viewer...Wonder why no
one has asked anyone to check that out.
