home networking & roaming profiles`

Our PC exploded recently, so we have just got 2 new PCs running vista home
ultimate. I have set up user IDs on both machines, and we have a network
between the 2.

What I would like to have is for the user data to be shared between the
machines (so that backdrop changes, documents in the documents folder, and
so on) are visible to the user no matter which machine they are logged onto.
I've hunted around in the documentation, but probably in the wrong place - I
found something that explained the differences between vista and xp profiles
in great detail, but at the point it started going into examples, it said
"this assumes you have windows server 2003". which we don't. And I think I've
lost the article as well :-(

Anyway, all help gratefully received.

You will need a Windows Domain Server to enable Roaming Profile.

For the current Need, you can share a folder is One Vista Machine. Map the
shared folder in both the machine as X or Y drive. You can now keep the
shared documents in that map drive.

For this to work, you should create same userid and password in both the
systems otherwise you might need to enter password everytime.

Firewall setting also might need to be changed to work this way.
