Home Networking Problems

I have 2 XP Home systems. Both wireless, one laptop and
one desktop. I have had them networked together for a
couple of months where I can print and access both
computers. Now all of a sudden I can't access either
one. My laptop can see the other computer but cannot
access it. My desktop doesn't see the laptop at all. I
have turned off all the firewalls from the wireless
portal and the NIS but still nothing. I can ping from
both computers so I know they can "see" each other but I
can't get them to share files, etc.

Please Help!!!

I just had a similar problem and I resolved it doing 2 things, first go into help & support and search for ping and read the article on ping and net view. This was very interesting and tells you a lot about what each computer is seeing including shared files and printers using the net view command. I then completely switched off the laptop firewall which improved communications so then I reconfigured the firewall for the network and re enabled. And everything is now fine.

Hope that helps
