Pro is the "real" XP. Home is a stripped-down version. Still, if you do not
need the special features of Pro, you may want to sell or barter the Pro
(assuming it is legal) rather than install something you do not need.
The question is whether the XP Pro from the old computer is
a retail or an OEM version. If it is OEM it isn't licensed
to be transferred to a second computer, even if removed from
the old computer.

If you don't need the added features of Pro, and few home users do, then
leave well enough alone. And as Jim states, if the Pro is OEM you can use it
only on the first machine it was installed on, and only as a clean install.
Unless you have a real need for one of the matters that is supported
solely in Pro, leave it alone.
In any case, if the Pro was an OEM installation on the old machine, it
may not be transferred - and that with your new one could not be used on
some other machine
