HLookup fails when inserting row?

I am using HLookup to draw data from a range in another workbook, bu
when I insert rows, the row index number doesn't change therefore th
formula references to the newly inserted row and not the data in th
row below. Is there a way of fixing the row index number so that whe
you insert / delete rows within the source range the formula reference
to the original row

insert before the last row or define a name for a self adjusting table.
