For some reasons, i have to share out the file and printer from one of the xp

Is there any setting we can increase the no of the share connection for this
pc ?

AFAIR, Windows XP Home supports up to 5 concurrent shared connections, XP
Home will do 10 and Windows Servers will do as many as you have purchased
CALs (Client Access Licences).

XP Prof has a 10 connection limit, Home = 5.

Printer sharing devices are about $50, they work on a network, so there
is no direct connect to a computer, eliminating the need to share it
from a XP Computer.

Windows 98 doesn't have this restriction (hint, hint, wink, wink).
