When I try to erase history it does not erase unless I go
back to history items and delete indiviually. when you
select "delete History" is that not supposed to do that
function?

yes it is supposed to do that function. However, even if you set the 'days
to keep pages in history' to 0 (zero) XP still keeps the current days
history. That is why i much prefer to use the third party software
