Hello Tim,
Thank you for posting here.
I have some suggestions for you:
Suggestion One: Safe Mode
To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:
Restart your computer, and when the Boot menu appears, press F8.
When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select an option, and then
press ENTER.
When the Boot menu appears again, with the words "Safe Mode" displayed in
red at the bottom, select the installation you want to start, and then
press ENTER.

Suggestion Two:
Did you install McAfee or other Anti-virus software? The same issue
occurred because McAfee blocks ActiveX.Therefore, I suggest you to disable
all the Anti-virus software and reboot your computer to check if the
history is working.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me
know. I am happy to be of assistance.
Thanks and regards,
Alex Zhang

| Is it possible that something is deleting the history folder contents so
| that there is nothing to display at that point?
