History folder - restore deleted history

Is there any way to restore cleared history? I tried a
selective restore to an earlier date, which brought up
the old cookies, but not the old history. Is there any
way to find that information?

Also, is there a way to find out when exactly the history
was cleared?

Another problem with history is it never displays in the
history window. I have to do a manual search for
websites. How do I enable it? I have tried everything,
but can't figure it out.

Hi Keen

As for retrieving the lost History, I doubt it, but, perhaps someone else
can help with that.

However, it's possible that your History has become corrupted. Try the
following and see if the information helps.

Your History folder may be damaged.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder and a new one will be created when you restart.

Or the History folder can be deleted manually:

You might need to delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be
created on restart.

Free History Eraser from

History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.

thanks for the info. I will check it out.

As for finding the old history, I tried searching the
registry and the entries are there, but I'm not
experienced with the registry and don't want to do
anything for fear of screwing something up.

Let's hope that if your History can be restored, you will be able to see the
History items again. (fingers crossed <g>)
