These things are scattered about all over the registry, many
applications keep their own Most Recently Used (MRU) lists. If you
right click on an empty space on the taskbar and click on the Advanced
tab you can clear the most common MRUs but to get rid of them all it's
easiest to use a third party tool. You can try ListZapper or MRU-Blaster.
