I was directed to use this program to get rid of a hijacked homepage.
However, I have deleted this unwanted homepage using HijackThis, but it
still comes back every time! I open IE, find 'about:blank' as the homepage,
change the homepage to the one I want, delete the Registry entry using
HijackThis, close IE and open it again and, blow me, the homepage is back to
'about:blank.

What am I doing wrong?

The hijacker is probably some form of scumware on your computer.
Clean up your system and THEN use Hijack This to fix the hijacked homepage

Are you joking? On the small chance you are serious and not just trolling,
it doesnt sound like your homepage has been hijacked at all. about;blank
means you dont have a home page set!
Just what registry entry are you deleting? Its not the one you want is it?

What happens if you set your homepage to www.justtrolling.com or whatever(an
example I hope you understand). If it ends up being 'about;blank' when you
reload IE then either you are not setting it right, or your problem is to do
with inability to save your home page, not being hijacked(or maybe to do
with you deleting an innapropriate registry entry)

Perhaps you could tell us what you do to set your home page? Exactly.

Thanks wojo. That's sorted that. It's strange that I've only had this
problem of hijacking since I moved to XP.

Thanks wojo. That's sorted that. It's strange that I've only had this
problem of hijacking since I moved to XP.

Just taking a guess here but I believe thats because the hijacker's scripts
are designed to hijack XP and wouldn't work on 98 but if I am wrong about
this I'm sure somebody will be very quick to tell me I'm wrong.
