Right click the Start button, left click Properties. When the Properties
window opens, click the Customize button. When the Customize window opens,
click the Advanced tab, and make sure that the option: Highlight Newly
Installed Programs has a checkmark to the left of it. If it doesn't, click
the box to add the checkmark. Then click the OK button, and click the APPLY
and OK buttons in the remaining window. Then reboot. But, if the checkmark
IS THERE, click to remove it, Click the OK button, and the APPLY and OK
buttons on the remaining window. Reboot, and then go back and put the
checkmark back again, click the OK button, the click the APPLY and OK
buttons in the remaining window. Then reboot.
