Highlight/Select Quirk - DRIVING ME NUTS

I have have Access '07 for a couple of months now and I have been dealing
with this quirk. Today I cannot seem to get around it:

In Access, when I try to select something, everything before it is also
selected. Here are some examples:

Created a From. Selected an Object. Right clicked for Properties screen. If
I try to edit any of the fields (ex: let's say Control Source) If I have a
source called "Details Table" but it says "Dettails Table" and I want to get
rid of the extra 'T', I cannot click in the middle of the word and delete it.
It selects either the whole sentence or from where I clicked to the end of
the sentence. So I have to delete it all and retype. For this simple example,
no big deal, but imagine all the other fields I want to change without
having to delete a whole string! What a pain!

It does this everywhere. This is where it bothers me most.:When I am trying
to select a row.

Ex: I am in the design view of a table and I want to delete a column header
row. I click the box to the left of the column name, it selects that row and
ALL the rows above it.

Another example of this same issue - this is the issue I am having that is
stopping me from completing my project.:

I have created a report using the wizard. All of the fields it put on the
form are majorly out of order. In design view, I click the ARRANGE tab. Then
the TAB ORDER button. I cannot select just one field to move the order. It
again selects whatever row I click plus everything above it. I can click and
drag and select a bunch, but it also selects everything above my selection.
It doesn't allow me to rearrange ANYTHING.

Does anyone else have this problem? I am hoping there is a
setting/preference somewhere that I can make a change to - but I haven't
found any remotely close to an option for "Select Everything You Don't Want
Selected and Ruin your Day" that I can uncheck - haha.

HOPING FOR HELP,
Allie

This is not normal behavior. Could it be that one of your Shift keys is
stuck? Or maybe you've accidentally triggered one of Windows' accessibility
options that makes the Shift & Control keys "sticky".

I have been playing around, no luck finding anything in Windows. Plus, so
far, I think Access is the only program that's having this issue.
Thanks for advice :)
