High Memory Usage for IE

I have a question regarding the memory that IE consumes on a W2k3SP1 server
after the installation of KB939653 and KB935839. On my terminal servers with
the following patches installed, IE will start up with roughly 50MB or memory
if a website is specified. However, if a blank page is used for startup the
memory consumed is only around 10-12MB. On other servers that do not have
these patches installed the memory that IE consumes for a web page at startup
is around 22MB. Any insights into possible causes or solutions would be
greatly appreciated.

Just checking here but did you restart the system after you installed
the patches?

The patches were automatically distributed and installed via 3rd Party
Product - Patchlink. Once the patches were installed the server would have
restarted.
