Some really great, and really big images. (Don't worry, there are smaller sizes in case you don't want to wait.)

heic0602a.jpg

Largest ever galaxy portrait — stunning HD image of Pinwheel Galaxy
12,392 x 15,852 pixels (196 MegaPixels) and a 394MB TIFF file
http://www.spacetelescope.org/images/html/heic0602a.html

heic0601a.jpg

Hubble’s sharpest view of the Orion Nebula
18,000 x 18,000 pixels (324 MegaPixels) and a 394MB TIFF file
http://www.spacetelescope.org/images/html/heic0601a.html

opo0328a.jpg

Hubble Mosaic of the Majestic Sombrero Galaxy
11,472 x 6,429 pixels (73.7 MegaPixels) and a 175MB TIFF file
http://www.spacetelescope.org/images/html/opo0328a.html

And a bunch more photos (some much smaller but no less incredible) over here:

Some of these are good enough quality for poster-sized prints.

Beat that then Quad. :D

Enjoy!

HuH! ... you can have 1k or 1terabit but if RAM "runs out" then that is what a HD "swap file" is for.

It does plainly state 394MB TIFF files. :p

Actually Flops, I've had the Orion Nebula as my Desktop Pic for a wee while now ...

But they have added more "enhanced" pics since I was last there ... great bookmark. :thumb:

Hehehehe... I was wandering who would be the first to go.

I won't be double clicking the file on my 64mb Laptop, then..
