hide total emails messages that appear on log in screen

My computer was initially set up in my absence. My computer was set up to
show the total number of email messages in my inbox on the log in screen. I
want to change that so the total number of emails messages does not show when
the computer is turned on.

Here is the easiest way:
1) Start Tweak UI
2) Click the "Logon" link and expand it.
3) Underneath "Logon", click "Unread Mail".
4) Uncheck "Show unread mail on Welcome screen".
5) If desired, select "Apply setting to all users".
6) Click "OK" to close Tweak UI.

If TweakUI is not on your PC you can download it at microsoft.com
All other "fixes" require editing the Registry.
