Hide or Edit a ToolTip

When you move the pointer over a cell that contains a
hyperlink, a ToolTip that contains the address that is
used by the hyperlink appears. Can I edit or hide that
ToolTip ??

Right-click the cell, then HyperLink >> Edit HyperLink. Click the ScreenTip

Thank you. My problem is now that I don't have the
ScreenTip button, how is that possible?? Should I
reinstall Excel?

NB - Danny's response relates to toolbar buttons, *not* screen tips.

You could strip out the tip with code -

Selection.Hyperlinks(1).ScreenTip = ""

*if* you navigate manually to the cell first (arrow keys or F5). Even if you
do, you'll still get a tip - the address of where the link is to.

I'm concerned by "I don't have the ScreenTip button" - did you get as far as
a dialog box titled "Edit HyperLink"?

There's nothing on MSKB and very little on Google for screen tips - maybe
you could try re-register rather than re-install. Close XL, then Start --
Run -- excel.exe /regserver -- OK (make sure you include the space between
exe and /).

Other than that I'm in the dark.

Andy
