Hide ldb file

Hello again,

I have a need to be able to pragmatically hide the LDB file once my MDB/MDE
file is opened.
Reason is, not everyone that needs to use my DB is computer savy and if the
DB is already open, some folks are trying to open the ldb by mistake.

Can the ldb file be hidden pragmatically? If so, any sample code would be
greatly appreciated.

(I think you meant programmatically) No, I can't see an easy way to
hide the ldb file. But why not simply put a shortcut (perhaps even
with a cool icon) on the desktop?

The icon idea is a great idea but my DB is accessed accross America, from
Florida to New Mexico, by quite a few people. I don't beleive coordinating an
icon would be the answer for this particular issue.
Any other thoughts of how I might be able to distingush the MDB/MDE from the
LDB file?
If nothing else, I guess I could create a switchboard thru access. I was
hoping to avoid this if possible.
Thank you for your response.

You should consider distributing your app using a Setup program. It
could create the desktop shortcut.

1) Generally we give users a convenient option such as a desktop
shortcut to start the app as it's a lot easier that going through
Windows Explorer. Many users don't even know how to use Windows
Explorer.

2) You should be giving each user their own copy of the FE anyhow
usually stored on thier local system. They shouldn't be sharing the
MDB in the fashion you are describing.

What do you mean by this.
