Select the cell(s) containing the formula(s) that you wish to hide, then:
<Format> <Cells> <Protection> tab,
Place a check in the "Hidden" box.
Now, you must protect the sheet for this to take effect.
If this hinders the functionality of some of the other cells on the sheet,
you must *unprotect* those particular cells beforehand.

Joe, Format, cells, protection, check hiden, locked or unlocked and then
protect the sheet. You will then not see it in the formula bar
